What’s Going on in 2019?

Charlottesville Represents at the US Open!!

CSDS is so proud of our three local dancers who competed their routines at the US Open Swing Dance Championships, the Olympics of West Coast Swing, in Burbank, CA over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! Junior Jacen Northcutt, with partner Taylor Garrish of MD, in the Young Adult division; Allison Bennett, with pro partner Ben McHenry of CA, in the ProAm division; and local pro Alyssa Gillespie, with pro partner Rob Glover of MA, in the Showcase division! Congratulations!



January 19th at the Ivy Creek United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with Guest Pro Robin Smith!


7:00 – 8:00 pm:  Beginner Lesson (TBA)

8:00 – 11:00 pm:  Dance


$10 CSDS Members ($5 if Birthday Month)

$13 Adults

$5 Students (full time w/ID), First Timers

West Coast Swing Group Classes thru our Community Partner, the County of Albemarle Parks & Rec Dept.

Local instructor Kristin Wenger, who has the longest running group classes, starts another session of Tuesday night classes on January 8th, at the Murray High School gym (where CSDS’ Swing Swap is held). West Coast Swing Level 1 is 6:00-7:30 pm, and West Coast Swing New Hot Moves is 7:30-9:00 pm. You can sign up online (Kristin cannot take payment in class).
